Great session - (NP)
Informative and fun: thank you - (MA)
The session was done very well, as always with Striding Edge. My first courses as a new Receptionist at Cartmel Surgery, Cumbria, 12 years ago were with them, and the knowledge I gained then has been used many, many times! My only criticism is that as there were so many participants, there were too many chat comments that were coming through from 3 questions previously! It was a bit out of sync. Thank you - (MG)
It has been helpful to learn about some of the techniques that were provided when dealing with patients - (HL)
Great people communication tools - (RB)
This type of course would be better suited to newcomers into the NHS. - (DM)
Amazing training session. Lot of positive takeaways from today's training. - (KS)
Good course with lots of useful tips to manage difficult situtations - (SL)
Good course content - (AR)
Enjoyed the course - (YC)
I would prefer questions etc to come up on the screen rather than everyone commenting in the chat as there is so many at once it's all a bit confusing - (GK)
Thank you - (CT)
Video clips of scenarios would help - (RD)
Excellent - (BP)
No additional comments. - (EB)
Useful overview. I have some reservation about repeating language (paraphrasing) spoken by patients. Happily, our patients rarely start conversations swearing or using derogatory language. What has been proven to work best is simple acknowledgement of the fact that the patient is angry and upset. Bring closure and then move to the next phase of the conversation. Also allowing escalation pathway. Behaviour correction does not generally work with patients who are angry and it takes a skilled professional to manage and educate patients. - (RK)
All comments appreciated - (EB)

The course was very informative and although I couldn't see everyone, I still felt part of a friendly group and not intimidated. - (MM)
I think these techniques can work, and it is good it doesn't focus on trying to get patients to behave differently, since sometimes they just want what they want and that's it. - (ES)
Very helpful and informative with ways that we can overcome and present ourselves to patients in de-escalating situations - (LB)
