The session offers a real alternative to the NHS on-line E&D evaluation, which checks knowledge but misses out on creating the ethos, understanding and valuing of E&D that staff members must surely have.  The course is engaging, challenging and will make your colleagues really consider their beliefs and values.

The aim of this course is to give a full awareness of equality, diversity and discrimination.  Specifically

  • Clear definitions of equality, diversity and discrimination
  • A values based approach to considering issues of discrimination
  • The legislation surrounding equality (optional depending on the audience)
  • The need and benefits of becoming an organisation that values diversity
  • Identifying subtle discrimination
  • Understanding how stereotypes begin, their danger and how to confront negative stereotyping
  • Bullying and harassment in the workplace (what constitutes it, what is required)
